The Application of Kathon CG

Kathon CG or isothiazolinone is a mixture of two chemicals (Chloro-2-methyl-A-isothiazolin-3-one & 2-methyl-4-isothiaszolin-3-one). It is a widely ill-used preservative incoming cosmetics and commercial household prducts. It is also exploited equally an highly-developed preservative for burning fluids.
It is used in cosmetics like emollients / lotions, shampoos, cleaners, washing materials.
Kathon CG is a broad spectrum efficiency antibacterial agent, water-soluble liquid of all kinds of bacteria preservative mold yeast algae all have strong inhibition and antiseptic effect pH range l ~ 9. PH value increases, will reduce the mixture stability sulfite and strong ammonium reductant can reduce activity.
Kathon CG/ICP contains 1.5% total active ingredients in water with magnesium salts as a stabilizer. Kathon CG/ICP II has a lower concentration of Mg salts stabilizer than Kathon CG/ICP. Typical in-use concentrations are 6 - 15ppm active ingredient, or 0.4mL/liter of storage solution.
Kathon CG/ICP Preservative is a highly effective, broad-spectrum biocide with excellent compatibility and stability and low toxicity at in-use levels. At very low concentrations, Kathon CG/ICP Preservative eradicates bacteria, fungi, and yeast cells for prolonged periods. In most cases Kathon CG/ICP can be the preservative of choice for applications in which traditional antimicrobials, such as sodium azide or thimerosal have been used.
